Welcome to new postdoc Eloi Martinez-Rabert at the MIO.
Laura, Margaret, Adam, and Pasca joined Eloi and James in Marseille and held a mini-conference at the MIO.
James & Laura were in Svalbard for summer QCarbon fieldwork, along with collaborators Ligia Coelho, Marshall Ledford, Juan Carlos Trejos-Espeleta and Bill Orsi.
James features on the New Scientist podcast and in La Marseillaise newspaper.
James is co-corresponding author on a new paper in PNAS on the role of fungi in soil carbon stabilization during early pedogenesis in Arctic soils.
James gives an invited talk at the Frontiers in Earth Science series at LMU in Munich.

The lab is looking to recruit a 2-year postdoc in modelling the habitability of the atmosphere (first applied to Earth’s atmosphere and then to exoplanets). The position would suit someone with an interest in habitability/astrobiology, theoretical approaches to environmental microbiology, and who has strong numerical skills (ecosystem, habitability, bioenergetics modelling).
